10 Healthy habits to follow every day
Your entire health and
the quality of your life can greatly benefit from developing good daily habits.
I'm going to discuss 10 daily behaviors that have significantly improved my
physical, emotional, and mental health in this article along with other daily
habits that have changed my life. '10 Healthy habits to follow every
day'
I wanted to explain a few things before we started so you would understand the
situation. First of all, remember that these daily routines did not emerge
overnight; rather, they did so gradually over a period of five years. It is
difficult to form habits, and it does take time. '10 Healthy habits to
follow every day' The second thing - although these habits are daily
habits I don't put pressure on myself to do them every day especially when
things get too busy or things are too overwhelming. Sometimes things slide a
little and that's okay.
When making lifestyle changes, it's not about perfection but rather about doing
what you can. When I'm feeling really stressed out, I try to perform these
habits at least three to five times per week since I think they help me stay on
track and reduce stress. Anyway, enough with the introduction; let's start
developing some habits.
- Drink a glass of water
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day'
always start my day by drinking a glass of water as soon as I get out of bed.
Well, not right away—I brush my teeth, use the restroom, and then drink some
water. I find that this has made a big difference in my energy levels in the
morning. We don't drink any water when we sleep, which causes us to wake up
slightly dehydrated and more exhausted.
There is some science behind this. So a good thing to do is start your morning
by getting enough hydration. I drink a glass of filtered water. It's normally
at room temperature, but if you want warm water, that can also work. I
occasionally add some lemon to it, though I don't always do that. '10
healthy habits to follow every day' Although it actually depends on
personal inclination, drinking some water in the morning is helpful for
boosting your energy.
- Meditate for 10 minutes every day
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day' Meditate for 10 minutes
every day. I used to be very skeptical about meditation when I first started. I
wasn't really convinced of it. I was mistaken in thinking that there wasn't
much science involved, but there is. It has the ability to reduce anxiety,
improve immune function, and alleviate pain. I am not naturally a calm person.
I am not naturally a calm person. I've been in this position for a long time,
and I firmly believe that trying it out will have numerous benefits.
Now if you're a beginner, meditation can seem very daunting, and I have two
tips to provide. So the first one is to try to be very open about meditation in
the beginning. The first 10 to 15 sessions for me were very difficult. I didn't
know what I was doing, and I felt overwhelmed and like I was doing it the wrong
way. Give it time; I didn't truly get into it and start to realize the benefits
until the 15th or 16th session.
The second thing is if you are starting out try guided meditation versus
meditation. Where you're just doing it on your own.'10 Healthy habits to
follow every day' Guided meditation can really help you stay on track
and can really guide you through the process. I use an app called Calm - and I
highly recommend it. I love it. There is also another app called Headspace
which you could try out.

- Go for a brisk walk outdoors every day
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day' I go for a brisk walk
outdoors every day. I must admit that, despite living in Canada, I am unable to
take a brisk stroll outside every day of the year. I try to get outside
throughout the year because I believe that being in the sunshine, fresh air,
and greenery is very good for my attitude, even though it doesn't happen during
the winter. Studies have also shown that being around greenery is good for your
health.
Now for me, the brisk walk is not just a mood booster - it's also the way I get
exercise. I have never been a gym person; I just don't enjoy going there. '10
Healthy habits to follow every day' I wish I could join those folks,
but I can't because I don't enjoy it. For me, getting exercise has to be a part
of my daily life, and I enjoy climbing up the hill.
The World Health Organization advises that we obtain roughly 150 minutes of
moderate cardiovascular activity per week; but, if your heart rate is high
enough, a walk might count as 75 minutes of cardiovascular activity.
- Daily Activities
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day' Even while walking, jogging, and running are all
beneficial types of cardiovascular exercise, a well-rounded fitness program
should incorporate other exercises in addition to strolling. I enjoy
incorporating weight training and yoga, but I wanted to concentrate on weeding
in particular because so many women avoid it, especially because they believe
it would alter their appearance.
Why is weight training so important? As we age, we tend to lose muscle mass.
This is a normal part of aging. Another normal part of aging is losing bone
density. But we can slow that process down with one thing, and that one thing
is weight training. It's never too early to start preserving your health. The
World Health Organization recommends that the average adult do at least two
sessions a week.
If you're just starting out, you should always talk to a professional to learn
the right moves. You could use free weights or body weights, but you should
always talk to someone who knows what they're doing to avoid injury. Once you
know what you're doing, you could work out at home, which is what I do. I'm not
a gym person, as I said earlier, so I don't go there. However, I will use free
weights and exercises with body weights at home.
- Nutritionist
Even as a nutritionist, I find it challenging to eat greens. I try to eat
something green every day, but it's kind of embarrassing. Since I didn't eat
greens as a youngster, the concept is very foreign to me, but I am aware of
their high nutrient density and the benefits of eating some greens every day,
especially a variety of greens. '10 Healthy habits to follow every day' If you're a novice, adding greens to your diet
truly is as simple as making smoothies. I've found that this was the greatest
method for me to start developing the habit of eating greens.
- Eat Fruits
I try to eat more than the recommended two to three servings of colorful fruits
and vegetables each day. Why is it important to consume colorful produce? You
may have heard the saying "eat the rainbow," which encourages
consuming food in all colors since various hues signify the presence of
different phytochemicals.
which means that they have different health benefits. Some phytochemicals can
help prevent cancer, help the liver, and help metabolism. '10 Healthy habits to follow every day' There are many
reasons to eat those phytochemicals, so it's good to have a variety. If you're
interested in finding out more about eating the rainbow, I try to cut at least
two to three servings of produce from each category.

- Use Music
I use music to wind down every night, therefore, it has a variety of
positive health effects. According to new research, which I thought was
incredibly interesting, relaxing music and nature sounds can help reduce stress
and the stress hormone cortisol.
If you're interested in science, I recommend listening to peaceful music
like flutes or natural sounds like waterfalls or leaves rustling. All of these
are great options for unwinding at the end of the day.
- Read Books
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day' I try to read or learn something new every day because it's something I
truly enjoy. However, there are other benefits, especially when it comes to
brain health. As we get older, our memories naturally decline, but mental
stimulation can slow that decline. For me, reading is a favorite pastime; for
you, it could be anything.
If you enjoy reading, pick up a book—both fiction and nonfiction have
advantages. If you don't enjoy reading, learning a language on an app like Duo
Lingo would be a good option. You can also watch something new every day, such as quick Ted-Ed bits, to keep your mind active and challenged.
- Spend time with my loved ones
I make an effort every day to spend time with my loved ones. Because many of
us wind up spending time with our loved ones while using our phones and not
truly chatting with them, I want to highlight the phrase "quality
time." The digital era has made this commonplace. My spouse and I used to
scroll on our phones side by side, but that wasn't truly spending time
together, so I don't chat with him as much as I should.
- Avoid Smart Phones
'10 Healthy habits to follow every day' When I used to be on my phone right before bed, I found it very difficult to
fall asleep because my brain was very mentally stimulated and my brain was all
over the place. Phones also emit something called blue light, which your brain
thinks is something you like. I avoid phones the one hour before bed.
